WNCA-NA PRESENTS OUR 12th ANNUAL CAMPOUT
June 14-17, 2012!
Come celebrate recovery with us in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest at the Cove Creek Campsites just below the famous Looking Glass Rock in Western North Carolina.
A weekend of camping, drinking coffee, hiking, food, games, swimming, drinking coffee, waterfalls, doggies and kids, mountain biking, bonfires, drinking coffee, drummin' and pickin', sittin' around, relaxing, socializing, drinking coffee, and oh, yeah, meetings!
The camp out starts at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 14th. There is no early admission.
The Looking Glass Bash is a dog-friendly event. That being said, the National Forest regulations state that all dogs are to be leashed at all times. Please have a leash for your dog as well as food and water for your dog. Please do not bring your dog to group meals, tie them up far away from the dining area during this time. You are responsible for your animal, please respect others when it comes to handling your dog (we know it's hard for some of you to believe, but some folks just don't like dogs!). Please do not bring more than one dog per responsible adult, one can be hard enough to control on your own.
There are usually lots of young children running around too, and we just want it safe and stress-free for everyone, including the dogs. If your dog falls under one ore more of the following categories, please consider not bringing it to the campout...
Please think a bout leaving your doggie at home or with a friend if...
- it is not safe around children
- it is aggressive, snaps, or bites a lot
- it is overly submissive and doesn't defend itself (this can be just as dangerous as an aggressive dog)
- it is not able to socialize with other dogs either on or off a leash
- it does not obey or respect it's owner
- it is only going to bark constantly while being tied up (which could be a lot of the time)
No generators allowed!!! But please feel free to bring drums, guitars, shakers, and other musical toys for the traditional bonfire jams every night.
NO FIREWORKS!!! No sparklers, no firecrackers. We will be thrown out of the campsite for using any type of fireworks!
